GSM stands for "Grams Per Square Meter".
It is a unit measurement that refers to how much one square meter of paper weighs.
So when we say 300gsm, it means one square meter of this paper weighs 300grams.
When it comes to paper weight, the higher the GSM, the heavier and thicker the paper will be.
Does higher GSM mean better quality paper?
NO.
SAME GSM PAPER CUPS, BUT SOME ARE VERY STRONG, SOME ARE SOFT.
It depends the paper quality itself.
